Hello,

Wonder if any forumers here know how to create vignette effect - something similar to vignetting in still photos - where the top and bottom of the video is slightly darken but has soft/gradual edge.

:)

i just use photoshop , go to filters-distort-lens correction.
it's easy and good enough for me :D

Most video editors will have this effect, but the actual steps you need to follow will vary. For example, in Vegas you can use the Cookie Cutter for this, in Edius you can apply a Region filter.

What NLE are you using?

you could try newblue video essential II plugin. I download the trial version and try the vignette effect. It is very good and easy to use. It costs about US$80. If you have $$$, you may consider this. if not, try the trial version to see for yourselves.

oh so sorry! i didn't see that this is under the video editing subforum. i was talking about photos! :S
