Counterfeit film from ebay via petapixel

"If you ever turn to eBay to purchase film, you should purchase from sellers that have both a high feedback rating and a country of origin that you trust. Reader Dallas Houghton recently purchased what he thought was 10 rolls of Fujicolor Superia 200 for $28 from a seller based in ShenZhen, China. After the film arrived, he noticed a tiny bit of yellow on the roll. When he gave it a closer look, he discovered that the “Superia” branding on the outside was actually a sticker. Once the sticker was removed the film turned out to be a roll of Kodak 400. He peeled the sticker off another roll and that one turned out to be an older Kodak Kodacolor 100 roll. Caveat emptor."

LOL... 28 for superia 200 is still a rip-off :)

CHINA!!!! Care to share who this seller is so bros here can avoid him?

Lol my cheaply bought (~$1.50 per roll) nicely boxed and shrink-wrapped Lucky 200 turned out to be superia 200. I only found out only after seeing the film code that is printed on the negatives.

Either way, I think I benefited from this 'counterfeiting'. heheh

haha at least both are comparable..imagine ektar for ektar price turn out to be superia 200

Why do these people have to leave a bad name for all Chinese people? And their people have the decency to call names? Shame on them.

I bought about 60 rolls of these 'counterfeit' films. I didn't get them from the seller off ebay, and my source has been honest about the film, quoting that it is 'non-original' and 'repackaged'. From what I hear, it is actually bulk rolled Agfa, but I'm not sure. But I have to salute these Chinese people for putting so much effort to make a fake product. So far, I shot 2 rolls, and I found out they even bother to fake the film edges. (Mine had Kodak GC 400 marked.) The results of the film is so-so. Some of the frames have horizontal scratches probably due to reusing old canisters.

Here are some samples:

I am in no way promoting these dishonest acts. By all means please avoid buying from this seller in ebay. But if you can get it cheap like me, enjoy this budget film. =)

cheers.

I bought it in a physical shop in china. Superia 200 is a decent everyday film for me so that's just chummy.

And if the films are wonky like kai's, I will thank my lomo roots =p

$1.50 for lucky or superia is still damn cheap. i don't mind paying that price either way.

and the rebranded agfa/kodak/superia/xyz brand that you seemed to have gotten isnt half bad either.
