Comments on A290

i think u shld think abt A390 model..... its less than $200 more than A290...

i never hold both cam yet, but from the specs i see on brochures, A390 is much useful. it has tiltable LCD with live view....

i think A290 doesnt have this. this feature is very useful.....

u cannot always look at the viewfinder just to take pics.... there are many situations where tiltable live view screen comes very handy....

i will pay more to get A390.... and i can also see the hand grip on A390 is much better.....

I dun think the a390 comes with the free 50mm lens.. And the pricing for a390 is between a290 and a33.

hi JE,

if u cant decide.. i decide for u..
get A33... LOL

Just get whatever that suits your needs and pocket. They are all very capable cameras.
Personally I prefer the CCD sensor and the optical viewfinder.

A390 comes with free 50mm lens... i saw it in the brochure.

and please hor, TS has a tight budget.... A33 is on $1000 price tag... his initial budget is only about $600. you are asking for another $400 more.... this will blow his pocket.

A390 is only another less than $200 more, which is reasonable for TS to consider.

My personal advice is get A390. Good enough to do everything under the sky

I just had hands on the a290 at Sony gallery, actually the grip is not bad. I just check that I'm able to buy the 18250mm lens at $500.00.

Total is $1199.00. May sell away the kit lens to recoup back some money. But do I really need the 18250 zoooomm lens or the 1855 is ok Liao...

Just get what your heart desires ! ...the A290 can take very good photogs too !!! :)

seriously think abt A390 that has tiltable live view..... it will be very useful in many occasions....

18250 at $500 is worth it. if later u dun like, still can sell it away at good price

Keep the 18250. Best lens to bring for walkabout and travelling. You won't regret.

See ! ...I told you A290 could take very good photos !!! :bsmilie:

for your reference, you can take a look at our a230/330 gallery thread, they may not be exactly a 'predecessor', but it gives you a good idea as to what the 'introductory level' (what i like to call) sony DSLRs can give you. not the best in the world, but definitely worth every cent of it ;)

That thread is living proof of the photographer and not the camera which make great pictures !!!
