Looking at Transcend and other reputable brands..

I am looking for CF cards too. Probably Kingston's 16GB. They are around $55 at SLS. Hopefully prices will plummet further at Comex.

I had some issues with Kingston previously...sticking to Sandisk since then...to me, Sandisk has been trouble free and has quick r/w speed!

have been using transcend 8gb - no problem at all....

but if prices are almost similar to sandisk or lexar, i will probably just take sandisk or lexar

Just came back from Comex...

The price for Sandisk Extreme III 8GB is $68.

Damn, that's good price. Can get at $70-ish is already good enough.

Distributed by Vector Magnetics?

Yes.

It's basically a lot of people going to Comex with the "if it's there it's cheaper" mentality, which is only very very very rarely true.

Haha, I agree. Actually, I have not gone to Comex for the past 2 years. 3 years ago I went to get a notebook and really, like what other's been saying, not much 'deals' at all.

if u're just gonna get CF cards, it's not worth the trouble to get them at COMEX, with the crowd, parking woes etc. I think flash memory prices has increased generally in the past year... so price comparisons may not be appropriate... however, I still think that SLS Best Bargain provides the best deal so far :)

really ? crashed ? i use sandisk but am looking at kingston due to its relatively low cost.

transcend's quality is not lousy,

but they are times when things fail, so do not judge them by one story (or in this case many:))

but what i'm saying is, this is a personal choice....

my sandisk extreme iii 8Gb has failed before...:)

and yes comex doesnt mean good deals.
