NIce to have many clubsnappers sharing and discussing about colors from diff brands here.
I agreed that technique, and effort are most important, but colour too, is the one of the essence of photo taking.
However, when I began such thread , I was simply referring to taking a canon and a sony or another brand dslr and take a shot, especially a portrait shot.
The color is different, and personally what I feel is Sony has punchy colors! (Using A550).
Canon 5D seems to have an earthly tone for skin and nice balance in saturation - simply said, look more natural.
That being said, I have experimented in using WB to try and achieve the kind of feel and color that I sort after. For those who are interested, play around with the Kevin setting on WB: find the 'temperature' that your subject look most natural and add a bit of magenta cast to get a rosy feel. It's hard to tell exact settings as different lightings conditions are everywhere.
I had colleagues who look at my photos taken from Sony dslr, and say "wow!".
Let's enjoy taking photographs in every moment of our lives! Cheers to All.
