Hi all:

I have almost finished my first roll of kodak protra 160. will be ready sent for processing soon.
any recommendation of processing lab, i need develop and scan. How long does it take?
Is fotohub a good choice? I have once a bad experience with a photo printing shop at clementi. I used fujifilm superia 200 and the results came out very grainy...and they give me the scanned pic with something like 1200X800 size(I was expecting a higher resolution).

I read once there is a good lab, somewhere near nafa, any one know it? Thanks.

If staying on the West side, you can try "Grace Lab". Its located at Sunset Way, look for Simon. He is a friendly guy with fast service.
Sells film too.:)

at burlington square - called trippleD - uncle mike is the person to go to

they all scan at low res 1200 x 800 if u want to scan high res you have to pay the more ( check on prices) or u buy your own scanner or do a diy rig [ search the forum]

grace is fast and friendly but my film always kena scratch and always curl up - very difficult to scan

thanks a lot. i plan to buy the plustek 7600 but the new stock only comes in in early nov.

Where are you getting your scanner from?

I got mine from Parsilk. Do get quotation before going down! Cash might be cheaper.

After buying go to silverfast website and register for silverfast version 8 upgrade (Free), include a scan of your receipt with the model and date clearly stated.

U can try Bizgram, I ordered mine Plustek 7600 from them and their oversea delivery is fast too.
I now based in a less busy country oversea, therefore the slowly scanning speed of the Plustek (abt 5mins per frame) is not a problem.
However I will advise those with busy work schedules and long working hrs to consider carefully before buying.

Triple D at Burlington Square does very well with C41 Film Processing.

I got another question here...for printing of pictures...are the current labs able to print direct from negative or do they scan into digital images and print out from there?

Highly likely to be scan in the machine and print digitally. Though it is just my assumption and experience; cos I can see pixels on my prints..

Thanks Kingston! yah, guess wet prints are not easy to find these days..and not cheap
