Color checker with Capture NX2

Hi folks,

I have came across articles on the Internet about how Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop can make use of color checker in color adjustment. However, I could not find much information on how to do the same in Capture NX2.

Could anyone lead me to a more informative link or articles?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Ben

If you are talking about built-in colour checker function for Lightroom, then the answer is that CaptureNX still relies on the traditional monitor (and printer) calibration method for correct colour representation.

I'm referring to Macbeth color checker.

In Capture NX2, I can use the set grey point & choose a photo with grey card in it to set the white balance. Is there a similar approach in NX2 to capture the 24 patches of colors from a color checker captured in a photo?

In short, if I have a color checker in hand, how can I make use of it with NX2.

In CaptureNX, neutral color picker (or eye dropper) can be used to define the RGB definition of particular colour spot like those in colour checker. Hope this answer your question.

It is sad that the a Popular Photography's example similar to your question, is not available for your viewing.
