Clueless on Digi Cam

This is a lazy question as i have not done any research. I have to admit i have zero knowledge at this too. So i thought of posting this here first, get an opinion from fellow minolta snappers. I'm thinking of buying a digi cam but dunno what brand/model to buy. Budget under 400 if possible, less better. Maybe about 3 or 4 pixel. Something decent and reasonable quality. Not too heavy to carry on a long trek, otherwise i might as well bring my slr right.

How's panosonic lumix? Seems good like the leica lens... ok ok sucker can't afford the slr version.

The lumix P&S are not bad, build-in stabilizer.. but the noise level at ISO400 is very high, very visible even on a 4R print.
