clubsnap server

hi admins/mods,

think you might already be aware, but i am getting messages such as "the server is too busy at the moment, please try again later.", and sometimes when i try to search something, it will tell me that the search function is disabled.

experiencing server slowdown since yesterday as well.

not sure if it's really due to heavy load, or there are problems with the system - just highlighting in case.

other than that, when i try to do searches, at other times i will get directed back to the clubsnap forum home page.

Yes agree, I've experienced the blank screen problem too but its intermittent.

just now, i got a "you have been banned", no reason given, etc. ban will be lifted on 26 dec 0800 hrs.

weird. but now it's gone.

this seems like an account problem, since other clubsnappers have mentioned that they do not have such problems. please investigate?

suffice to say, i'm very amused by this, and i'm sick and tired of double standards, the lack of transparency here. i'm not sure which joker imposed this, but to me , it is an act of pure cowardice.

please do not reinstate any of my threads, particularly those in the articles & guides section.

i have no wish to contribute to a place that rewards its well-meaning members in such a manner.

you might want to think about why many good photographers have left this place over the years. i had tried to speak to a few of them, but they were adamant about it. i guess i was a bit too optimistic to hope for change in the long run.

remember, it works the other way. i can only say, with this last disappointment, i take my leave with a cheerful heart.

Its a pity that you have to leave due to unforeseen circumstances and I suspect I know whats going on.
Meanwhile do keep taking awesome photos and see you online somewhere else.

every symptom i have been experiencing is explained by this very thing, which i got when i googled for these problems to try to resolve them.

i was reading another post where it looks like a member has been added to the miserable user hack..and it got me thinking. Why on EARTH would any reputable admin use anything so immature, and sneaky as the miserable user modification for vbulletin? yet i see on the thread that MANY do. Is it a power thing? i see it as cowardice. I know you get trolls and spammers and all sorts that cause consistant trouble, but personally i would far rather deal with them resorting to banning if needed, than amuse myself by sticking the miserable user hack on.

the infraction system is there for a reason, indeed, why would any reputable administration of a forum use something so IMMATURE, and SNEAKY, and not inform the member inflicted with it?

another thread mentions that in more "reputable boards" the users inflicted with this status are informed - received no such information.

Like it or not you are a Guest here.

None of the Mods here need to give you any explanation.

The Admin believe in directly DE-REGISTER or BAN him/her if we feel he/she is not welcome here.

The Admin will only work on the servers when we have FREE TIME.

If not wait until we are running ClubSNAP commercially, employing full time server admin and support staff.

When classed as miserable, a member suffers ;

1. Slow response (time delay) on every page (20 to 60 seconds default).
-check

2. A chance they will get the "server busy" message (50% by default).

-check

3. A chance that no search facilities will be available (75% by default).
4. A chance they will get redirected to another preset page (25% & homepage by default).

-check

5. A chance they will simply get a blank page (25% by default).

-check

6. Post flood limit increased by a defined factor (10 times by default).
don't know what the hell this is.

7. If they get past all this okay, then they will be served up their proper page.
