Is there any solutions or ways to clean the exterior of used lens?

Use rubber blower first. If still got dust or debris, u can get chamois cloth from chiif or master tay

Is there any solutions that can be used to clean the lens exterior? There are those harden dirt which can't be easily removed.

i like to use concentrated isopropyl alcohol swabs. so far works well for me. anyone wanna advise me against that? i've been doing that for years lol

If you mean on the body of the lens itself, you can use anything as long as whatever you're using doesn't get inside the body itself. If using water, make sure you dry it throughly before storing it away to prevent fungus growth.

hard toothbrush works well, with a little alcohol for tough stains

u can buy isopropyl alochol or denatured alcohol from guardian pharmacy

I never heard of toothbrush on lens. Isnt that going to remove the coating and scratch?

That would be for dirt on the exterior body not the lens element itself.

I would be extremely careful with using alcohols. Some of the paints might get washed off. Do not let any of the alcohol land on the lens coatings. While I should expect the coating to withstand alcohol, I cannot be sure.

For your lenses in black, I'm sure there's many shifu's here that will gladly assist with a sandpaper!

I was responding to TS on cleaning the exterior of lenses. For glass I just use lenspen, I've never had to use alcohol on lens surfaces itself.
