Need some advice. I notice some small hair? on my view finder when i'm taking pictures. It doesn't affect the picture quality at all. It's not on the mirror but on the ?plastic bit on top of it? the part the inverse the picture i think? tried blowing but doesn't work. any advice? back to canon or use something to wipe it? btw what's that piece call?

thanks in advance

Should be somewhere in the focussing screen. On the 300D, I don't think you can remove it yourself. If you want to have it cleaned, sending it back to Canon is the safest bet, though you might risk more dust specks getting in.

20 bucks for the cleaning and it has to be done in canon service centre. Bear in mind that, there are some stubborn stains that even canon technical staffs can't remove.
(???? surprised me)

thanks for the info....i know it's no big deal, just more of a irritant than anything else just like a small dent in the car door ha....

I tried to remove mine,
I tried to blow it
I tried to brush it
I tried to wipe it with tissue
.............!!!!!

one small hair become a lot of dust!!!!

you quite daring or i would say i'm a little more chicken than you ha....don't really know how to remove it but after blowing it was good

Suggest don't try to clean the focussing screen, I learned it the hard way....Intend to clean off the dirts, so take out the focussing screen and clean and get worst. In the end, spend $$$ to replace new screen. :nono:

if you don't mind, how much did it cost to replace your screen?

just ignore it like i do
eventually you'll get used to it and wont even notice it!
:bsmilie:

Had the same issue before on the focus screen...

Used: blower, cotton cloth (my T-shirt)

Applied: carefully, back and forth between blower and cloth, dun touch the mirror, use cotton but. if you have one

Result: cleaned as new...

Risk: high :D:D:D
