Chopsticks are cheap, identical, and works best in a pair. Equally indispensable are chopstick lenses.
If a twin-cam interview needs to be streamed live or turned around quickly, then color continuity/contrast conti/ matters tremendously.
The easiest way to achieve seamless cutting between two angles is to use identical cameras and identical lenses.
However, different focal lengths may be required from each camera, so a pair of identical constant aperture zooms are the best solutions.
Professional zooms are not cheap and buying two exact copies will burn a big hole in the pocket... Unless they are for obsolete systems.
Generally, FD, and K-mount copies tend to be cheaper than their F-mount or EF mount versions. However, the mount does not matter much when adaptors and focal reducers are required for mirrorless cameras/camocorders anyway.
An excellent "chopstick" lens kit for interviews would be a pair Tokina AT-X 35-70mm f2.8 Paired with a passive adapter or a focal reducers, they provide the perfect range for most interview situations. Just make sure to use a pair of identical focal reducers to avoid color shifts.
Best of all, you can find these lenses for usually between $80-120 on ebay!
