Opinions on this model? Sony tapes only please.

Hardly buy DV tapes these days...but they don't make a diff to me as long they're Sony. Different brands might cause problems between camera models...

I've tried all different 'grades' including "Master Series" HDV tapes, etc. no diff ... and I was a regular DVCAM user.

Suggest getting a HVR-DR60 to remove the need for tapes (unless you plan to use it for archive purposes). Hard disk recording will reduce wear on your tape head, remove the need to forward and rewind to look for footage and also remove drop frames.

Just my thought.
