Cheapest place for B+W developing & printing

I understand that a thread regarding about B&W developing and printing may have appear in Clubsnap before,,, but I can't find it.

Can anyone please advice me on where is the cheapest place to have my B&W developed and printed?

I am starting to learn B&W photography therefore hope to get as much advices as possible.

The place which you recommend, do they print using B&W or Color papers?

Is there any diff between the 2 types of paper used?

Join SAFRA Photographic Club and you can do your B&W photos for free. You only need to purchase your own paper.

Do remember that B&W need a couple of coloured filters to enhance your the picture you shoot. Or you knew that already?

I was told about the filters.. But quite difficult to find and expensive for filter in 39mm and 43mm.

Would the B&W pic still be beautiful without these filters?

when printing onto paper if the enlarger has a dichrotic (kakakak can't remmeber how to spell) u can control the contrast from there to "save" the picture

You can learn to do B&W developing yourself actually, or ask around forums like CS or Offstone. Do take note that you're the best person to develop your own film because you know what ISO you've set your film speed, etc, etc.

Alot of these places do film developing in bulk, e.g. using a Jobo tank system that does 17 rolls at one shot. Do you think people would sort out those that requires 5 minutes from those that requires 10 minutes and develop them separately for you?

Oh, and washing part of the process to remove the hypo from the negatives...do you think they'll wash it thoroughly under running water for you for 5 minutes?

Bottomline is, why pay people $$ to screw up your negatives?
