It could be flash meter also you know. Now very common you get both light and flash in one meter.

I mean an incidence meter. This is a photography forum afterall!

Try the Polaris meters. They can do incident, reflected and flash metering. < $250.

Of coz, if money no object, then get the Sekonic L-608 or the older L-508.

Ouch! Anything less than $50?

Don't think so. At that kind of price, use your camera meter. Alternatively, you can look for vintage meters (dunno about accuracy) like the Weston Master V, some old Sekonics, Gossens, etc. on eBay.

Hi Rubric,

I highly recommend the cheap and good Sekonic L308 flash / light meter. I just bought one a few days ago and found it very small and light to carry around (my main requirement in a light meter, in addition to being an accurate incident light meter, of course!).

Interface is similar to the Minolta IV F which I borrowed a couple of weeks ago. In fact, it's the smaller and cheaper version of the Minolta IV F. As a bonus, it can also perform cordless and with cord flash metering. It can also do reflective, and comes with a small attachment for metering completely flat / 2D surfaces.

it retails about $280.....well not exactly less than $50, but well worth it, IMHO........

Anyone still using a selenium batteryless meter? Looking for a batteryless setup to compliment my TLR.
