AFAIK / IIRC, the search function is limited to more than 3 characters as anything less would have a adverse effect on the performance of the servers.

I have a similar problem before.. what i did instead of searching for the camera model.. i use the keyword BODY, LENS, FLASH etc.. All thread are categorize with those keywords..
