CF card help

Hi,

Got a new toy Sony HVR-Z5P with Sony HVR-MRC1K & CF 16 GB have not really done much recording with it yet, but need to get larger capacity CF card. Here I need some help, planning to 32 GB card 30MB/s.


Q1. In 32GB card how many hours recoding time? And do I need a faster speed?

Q2. Any recommendation CF cards to use and shop to go to purchase?

Q3. Experienced any issues or problems in HDV recording modes using Avid Liquid 7.2 for editing?

Q1. In 32GB card how many hours recoding time? And do I need a faster speed?
32GB = approx 2.5 hrs. You'll need CF cards with min. 133X speed as specified in the manual. No need to buy higher speeds unless you are gonna use it for SLR photos in burst mode as well.

Q2. Any recommendation CF cards to use and shop to go to purchase?
No particular brand preferred. I have 5 OEM pcs of 32GB from Samsung purchased off ebay 2 yrs ago at approx S$100 each. Been using it with my Z7. No problem at all with SD or HDV recording.
