Oh, there is one more method which I will certainly NOT recommend... the 3M sticky tape method. Lots of horror stories from people who dared to try.

Yes, that is the dumb one. I've seen a spoilt CCD with those sticky stuff still on it....

Please don't try to commit camerikaze....
(Then again, it's your camera, folks.....)

You think by using sensor swab, if anything happens to the sensor, they will not void the warranty meh?

At least I use what they recommend mah. I can still argue back if they insisted that I scratch the CCD with something Fuji did not recommend.

Still possible to argue back. They will say they ask you to clean with sensor swab, not scratch with sensor swab.

They win already lor.

Anyway, I will go to Fuji Singapore for CCD cleaning during the warranty period. Once the warranty is over, I will clean myself with Pecpac and Eclipse solution.

I seriously thinks that they can still void your warranty if you attempt any Physical contacting method to clean your CCD loor.

haha..throw the manual at them :bsmilie:

Think this scenario:
You just bought a new Plasma TV. The manual will include some maintenance tips such as using a soft cloth to clean the panel. You followed, however, few big dust particles caught on the cloth and scratched the panel.
Whose fault? Who should pay for the service?

Okay, this question may sounds silly. How do you wrap a PecPad on a SensorSwab spatula?

Scared, wait use le, it became Permanently Visible Dust!

i use this http://www.visibledust.com/products.php?PID=202

expensive but results are much better than swabbing.

Think I will get this too. How long does it take to reach Simgapore or you buy somewhere in Singapore?

I was wondering how much it costs to replace the CCD so I wrote in to find out. The price for the replacement is $1460. My heart almost stop when I saw the price.

i got mine from cathay. probably cheaper online.

Not similarly. Not If cleaning your car leaves the engine damaged and unable to function properly... that's what happens if you damage your CCD...
