You are invited to reflect upon the dualities in the Fortune Cat, a symbolic figure often seen here(Singapore) in Chinese-owned shops and homes. Although cute and benign in appearance, the Cat takes on an sinister quality when examined closely. Is it symbolic of the mindless pursuit of wealth that we are often trapped in? Are the paws waving fortune in, or taking it away from another?
