Students making short film for school assignment looking for cast!
Offering a small token as we are working on a tight budget and meals will be provided. Also, the scheduled shoot dates will be from Friday to Sunday, 15th– 17th July 2011.
Synopsis of our short film,Lost and Found.
Mr Lim is a janitor in a secondary school. One day, he saves James from getting caught from smoking, but is caught himself for keeping lots of lost items in his locker. James saves Mr Lim from getting sacked, and together, they form an unlikely team, returning all the lost items back to their rightful owners. But everything falls apart when they accidentally passes a burn book to a classmate of James’. Mr Lim takes all the blame, and as a result, is sacked. As Mr Lim is clearing his locker for the last time, he finds a note from James saying, “Thank you for being my friend”. Mr Lim leaves the school, happy that despite losing his job, he found a friend in James.
Character Bios:
Mr Lim [main cast]:
A 50-60 year old man, without a goal in life. He has some white hair, and his facial hair is unkempt. He doesn’t have a family, and he lives with himself. Mr Lim does not understand English at all; he only speaks simple Chinese and Hokkien. Mr Lim feels that he can still do good to the school, and also he wants to prove his worth to the school. Mr Lim is lonely, and he forgot what it is like to have a friend.
James [main cast]:
A 15-16 year old student, pretty much a gangster. Thin, spiky hair, ear studs, tight shorts and a small sling bag, he is the conventional gangster-wannabe of today. His English is poor, and he talks in Chinese. The only Hokkien words he knows are vulgarities. The gangster-look is just a mask that he puts on, as he was bullied when he was a young boy. James is desperate to fit in. Inside there is still a teenager who knows what is wrong and what is right. He comes from a typical middle-class family, doesn’t have any problems with monetary issues
Mr Chan (Principal):
Strict principal, cares a lot for the welfare to the school. Age 40-60.
Mrs Tan (Teacher):
A 25-45. Understanding teacher, who is feels very sorry for Mr Lim’s situation. Short scene required only.
Clarissa:
Either
* An attractive, well-to-do drama queen who is very vain about her looks.
OR
* Low-self esteem, a little plump, not really attractive.
Either way, looks and appearance is very sensitive to Clarrisa. Any attack on appearance would devastate her.
Mr Lee:
A new teacher, a young teacher. Age 25-35. Very busy man who is pursuing his Masters, which is why he’s late for school always.
Auditions will be held the coming Wednesday (6 July 2011).
