Canonet GIII QL-17

Hey everyone,

Found a Canonet GIII the other day and just couldn't decide whether or not to splurge some money on it. I've read lots of articles where people just rave about its 1.7 lens, but I'm not sure whether the $220 the guy was asking for is really worth it. So I'm writing to ask you more experienced RF shooters for advice as to whether the Canonet is worth that money. Any opinions would be deeply appreciated.

personally i'd say restore it only if you intend to use it.

I think i paid 180 for restoring my Canonet QL25 some years back, did like 2 rolls though. so its like 90 bucks per roll. Totally not worth it.

Unless it's been serviced recently, it's not worth that price. It is however a good camera with a good set of shutter speeds and a relatively fast lens.

You might want to consider the non GIII version. Sharp and pretty darn good a camera too. Decent sets can be found for less than a third of the price on the Bay.

$220 is really overprice..

i had a set from my dad collections, although the metering is not working..i still used it till now manually without the metering.
