Hi everyone, ok this is NOT an offical XH G1 Review, I've got the previledge to be unoffically sponsered by Canon to shoot a trailer today(Sunday) with the new Canon XH G1.

I must say the XH-G1 has been pretty friendly to me - it took me just 3mins to figure out where the buttons and settings are..
It has the compactness comparing to my XL-2. This means easier to carry it around, both deploying it and packing.. and good for running around shooting random stuff
The LCD screen was bigger than the XL2, hence its easier to know when I'm in focus.
But several settings or most of the desired settings has to be manually adjusted in the incamera menu.. This means I won't have the total freedom of donig 'shoot and run' operations without pausing and fiderling with my camera.
Post production is alittle tricky, I spent about 30mins playing around premiere to make the ends meet. I manage to capturem edit and export the footages pretty smoothly - thanks to my new computer.. I'm a happy man! or kid. or boy. The HDV footages were awesome, BUT.... in AVI, I had several awesome footages I shot from XL-2 that could match the XH-G1 footages I shot on saturday.. but of cos I did not factor in the lighting and post.
Anyways, I got this camera yesterday morning... once I got back home I started thinking of a plot, called some friends over and shot a short 3min film.
Today I shot my a 6min trailer in my secondary school with a whole crew of people.
So here are several screencaps of saturday shoot.. Botak head boy is me
