Hi,

I would like to check if anyone here has any experience with this conversion done oversea.

Any feedback will be very helpful on who I can send the lens to and who's reliable , good and fast.

Any info on www.eastcamtech.com & Steve from www.camera-care.com

Thank u.

Ben

I sent mine to www.eastcamtech.com, he is very good, just received it one week ago, the focusing are accurate  even at F0.95 on my M8. mine is the TV version.

I had one lens each converted by both Mike from Eastcamtech and Steve from Camera Care. Another one is being converted by Ken Ruth right now. Mike will not service the lens, only doing the conversion while both Steve and Ken can do the CLA, the latter prefering that the camera be sent with the lens.

Steve has been servicing Canon lenses for more thean 30 years.

Just to share my experience with Steve Serota.

I sent a CCTV lens along with a Voigtlander mount to him in Jan to be converted to M mount. He said not possible but can convert to 4/3 with 7m of focusing. So we proceeded to convert it to 4/3 - I paid $170 upfront and he said he will finish in a couple of weeks. Almost 6 months later, countless emails, I got my CCTV lens back. Instead of 7m of focusing, I end up with 7cm. Hmmm....

I am willing to forgive all this (hey now I have a 0.95 super macro lens!) But the dude forgot to return my Voigtlander adapter. He still hasn't return or refunded me yet. Now it's Oct!

Just so you know...

I had my lens completed in 2 weeks by Steve. However, you may want to do a search for any of the above folks to see what the service quality is. For example, Gommy has sent to DAG a Canon 50mm f0.95 for a Visioflex conversion but it has been months. DAG is holding one of mine for a slight backfocusing adjustment and it too been months now. Worse, no emails, so it is a black hole.

I think yours is not the Canon 50mm F0.95, CCTV lens have very short focus distance from last elements to film surface, not possible to used on SLR or Leica rangefinder, only on c mount movie camera can focus to infinity.

That's true - which I found out after my own research. The rodenstock F0.75 (I think it's for lab use) can focus out to 30 to 40 cm.

Thanks Hacker, Camera23 and tomato for all the informations.

Still waiting for my lens to arrived.:)
