newbie qn: planning to go into RFs, have been eyeing the said camera... but have been reading from online sources that the PX625 mercury batteries are no longer available in the states. are they available here though? where can i get them?

thanks :)

You can get the PX625 alkaline version from ruby. There maybe some inconsistency but works pretty well so far. Or you can get a MR-9 adaptor or wein cell (zinc-air) online. Locally, if you want high accuracy you can also get the zinc-air 675 batteries from NTUC, guardian etc. You will need to make some padding for the battery compartment as it is smaller that 625.

got the same adapter from Thailand (on ebay)... works great... just need to find the right silver oxide battery... Found mine in the old watch shop in Bukit Timah Plaza... Works great :)

is there any shop tat selling the batt in sg, e.g peninsula plaza?

Ruby (Peninsula Shopping Complex, just beside Funan) sells the PX625A alkaline version. I bought 2 of them last week, so will be testing them out.

I heard so from a couple of fres.. bt as wat stated in the comments above, those might cause some inconsistency in metering? Sorry may i know how much u got them, plan to get them too. Looking forward to ur feedbacks on those battery after u test out.

I have been using the alkaline batteries in my canonet. I haven't seen serious issues with metering. You really don't have to wait for the adapter before you start shooting, especially if you are just shooting negs.

Actually I have started shooting, my cam actually come with the original batt but need to get spare one. Great will go down to Ruby to get the batt. Thanks :)

P.S. Btw any of you guys got 48mm UV filter for the lens?

I don't use uv filter, but I do have a 48mm k2 as well as w red filter for b/w shots. I remember I bought them from Seng Cheong. They might have the uv filter in stock.

If anyone still looking for the batt, i have 20 pieces left. :)
