Hi All,

Anybody knows if prices in Taiwan will be cheaper than sg?

Thanks!

If I am not wrong, taiwan has about 10% duty on camera and lenses so should be abit more expensive.

i happens to been there last year. Stayed in Taiwan for 6 months. So i got the chance to go around looking for equipments during weekends.
Sad to say, from north (taipei) way down to south (kaoshiung), all camera equipment tends to cost alittle bit more than spore. imho, you can drop that idea of getting camera equipment in taiwan.;)

what about things like gaffer tape / lens cleaning accessories? ;)

I have been working in Taipei for over a year and I do not agree with your statement that all camera equipment tend to cost a bit more compared to Singapore. I don't know about Canon because I have been a Nikon fan for a long time. The dSLR bodies cost about the same but all lenses, whether they be Nikkor but especially Tamron, Sigma or Tokina cost cost much less here. Likewise filters by Hoya, Kenko and Marumi are also cheaper. For example, the last time I checked the price of a Sigma 10-20 lens whether Nikon or Canon mount, it was quoted at NT$13,500 or about S$643. The Tokina 12-24 is about NT$14,500 or about S$690 and the Nikkor 70-200 F2.8 VR is about NT$49,000 or about S$2,333.
