Canon G3 Promotion - $1299 + i450 printer

Saw this promotion in Streats today.
Canon G3 at $1299 includes Canon Bubblejet i450 printer + training voucher.

Any comment? Worth it or not?

I know G3 can be gotten at around $1106 (include GST).

You should be able to get it at the regular price (ie 1070 at Cathay, 1063 at MScolor) and still get the i450 printer. Just present the receipt and warranty card at the canon showroom in Funan.

The i450 printer doesn't come with USB cable, so, remember to get one. it is USB only which I don't find it useful.

But I think the camera is a good buy and very happy with it.

So at $1063, the i450 printer can be sold off, say at around $200 (someone selling it for $200 here), it means G3 is only $860 -- that is really good price man for a 4.0 MPixel.

Are you sure it works that way? Any one has bought it ?

Yup.

I bought mine at MScolor last week at $1070. MScolor give me a free bag and mini tripod.

Just pick up the printer today at Funan, haven't set it up yet.

So, yeah... you can sell your printer away. Make a two hundred along the way.

Oh, suggest you buy the USB cable first before picking up the printer. Find it strange to carry the big printer into shops to buy cable.

I was in fact looking for a second hand G3, but lucky me, I got a new one.

Just find a lot of people are selling stuffs in Buy and Sell at very unrealistic prices.

How much you paid for the usb cables.

Nope.

Just factor 4% GST, so, it is 1105 for Cathay. I paid $11 for the USB cable, but I get a longer 3m cable.
