According to this rumour, Canon is getting ready to announce a new range of full-frame mirrorless cameras. The new mirrorless, allegedly will use EF lenses, mostly likely natively. If that is the case, we can expect the same flange distance as regular Canon DSLR. meaning the body has to be considerably thicker than Sony A7/A9. This actually makes more sense because one large body with several smaller lens is likely to take up less space than one small body and several longer lenses. Also the larger flange distance creates a opportunity to squeeze in internal variable ND filters.
The race is on now to see which brand will deliver in one single camera:
EVF, extreme ISO performance, LOG profile, touchscreen autofocus and a headphone port.
My money is on Sony, but I hope Canon will throw us a surprise.
