Hi,

Does anyone know of any websites that sells/recommends suitable video accessories (stabilizers, mics, etc.) that are compatible with DSLRs with video functions such as Canon 7D or 5DMk2?

try cathay photo dude...they recently launched a slew of DSLR stuff for video.

Thanks. Is there any websites that I can do some reading up on recommendations? Don't want to walk in like a carrothead

a carrothead is nice (:

www.cinema5d.com and www.dvxuser.com

If you can ingest all the information in these two forums, you'll be a wizard in video production. (:

But if you're lazy, just message me hahahah :P

Beware that ingesting everything in the forum may result in getting what we like to call it a 'Garbage in, garbage out' syndrome. ;p

I think... it's better than ingesting Clubsnap right? hahahahah :P

That's why I am here to try to keep this video forum a better place for ingest. :P

Lol.
For support systems, follow focus, viewfinders, matte box etc.
http://redrockmicro.com/
http://www.indifocus.com/
http://www.cinevate.com/website/index.php
http://www.zacuto.com/

These companies produce accessories specifically suited to HDSLRs. Cheapest being indifocus and most expensive being zacuto.

For field monitors
http://www.ikancorp.com/
http://smallhd.com/
http://www.lcdracks.com/

They produce LCD's for framing and focusing. You need to buy one with HDMI input.

http://www.arri.de/camera/professional_camera_accessories.html

This is a professional cinema camera company, so needless to say the produce one of the best follow focus units and matte boxes. Only problem is their items runs around mid 4 figures.(I have no idea what the price is in singapore).

Stabilizer systems.
http://www.steadicam.com/handheldmerlin.html (rest are way too expensive.)
http://www.camotionllc.com/blackbird-a-78.html

There isn't much choice for stabilizers other than gimbal stabilized camera.

Please do not be surprised that the cost of such accessories add up to even more than the body. Thats the way it is.

Thanks for the all supplied information guys!
