sory, only got the EF50 f1.8II... the rest of the 50's are leicas and pentax SMC...

That will be good, but not many pple have all 4 Canon's 50mm lens..

i'm waiting for my tamron 28-75 to come back from servicing. then ill compare sharpness. i've got a feeling my tamron at f/2.8 = canon 50mm prime at f/1.8.

i have not doubt that these lens are sharp. how about the contrast & color saturation? any comment how to compare ?

.... the best thing i've found so far for such test is - toy!

most children toys are very colourful and you can get different sizes - depending on how far you want them to be placed.....

arrange the toys so that you have some of them in your intended sharp focus and some in the background to see how the background blur (aka bokeh) will be like.

set your tripod, focus and shoot away! you may want to try auto-WB and manual-WB to see the different colour response (some lens tends to be stronger/emphasise certain colours!)
