Cannot get minolta lens

u can check out with John 3:16. They can quote u instantly eventhough they dun have stock.
When u place an order for a particular model, they are usually fast to get u the lens. Not to forget that Minolta Service Center is just 3 floors up from John shop.
FYI : If u wish to test out the lens before buying but no shop does actually keep that lens, u can always try to go to Minolta Service Center, look AndyLee (clubsnapper as well). His service is very good.

Its not that Minolta is changing its lens system, nor Minolta is giving up. Rather, its cos the market for Minolta is small and not many shops will keep all the lens in stock otherwise they end up selling old stock.

As you know the "name brands" like Nikon and Canon forms the main bulk of the camera stuff here in Singapore. There seem to be more 2nd hand Nikon and Canon stuffs too......
Minolta is not that "famous" here hence less shops would want to bring wider range of lens and accesories into Singapore. However, if you go to other countries in Europe...Minolta seem to fare much better.
Spoke to some shops here before on the availability of Minolta lens...its just that they don't want to bring items that dont bring them high profits.
On top of that, the 2nd hand equipment pool for Minolta is also small hence the difficulty to find them in the 2nd hand stores. Maybe Minolta users buy and keep them and use them .........instead of buying and selling........
So ...do scout around in older shops they might have old stocks that are sold at great bargain.
If you go to the shopping centre at Hougang Green, there is a Konica Shop that still have soome old stock minolta AF lens like the 28-105 mm.
Can check out for bargain.......

Andy Lee is working as customer servicer in Minolta. Easily to be spot, always wear a jacket, baseball cap and glasses. Very nice guy.
He can show u all the Minolta equipment (provided he has time) camera, lens, scanner etc.
If I setup my servicing company in future, I am sure headhunt him to join my company.

Me not sure as to what you say will be true forbytes :dunno: ....of course i would like to remain in Minolta. But remember, there is the merger. We all know the aftermath of a merger......but one thing is for sure, MINOLTA will be my primary means of taking pictures...... :thumbsup:
