Can Minolta A1 use Nikon/Canon battery ?

Hi

Does anyone know if the A1 can use the Canon BP511 or the Nikon EN-EL3 batteries ? they are the same size and have the same voltage as the A1 battery. From the pics, it seems to have the same contacts as the EN-EL3 too.

Anyone tried it ? Thanks.

From what I saw from the dpreview article, the position of the contact seems
slightly different. If you could sort that out perhaps it will work......
