Why is it that Cameras are for passionate and artistic people and Videocam is more for like tourists? Why can't you be passionate about taking home videos? Why are there no professsional videocams but there are professional dslr's? why?

are you sure about this?

nut's... this thread is an insult... fyi a professional videocam cost more 30k.... idiot...

I'm not sure, that's why I'm asking.

depends on the situation.

which one more valuable,

1) your wedding photo or your video of the wedding ceremony?
2) the baby photo of your kid or video of the kid being born?
3) a photo of your kid standing up or a video of your kid taking first steps?

for me i carry both so no problems there. having good gear is great but knowing when to use which is priceless and there camcorder users have advantage as they know by reflex when to take photo and when to take video.

u moron, be careful of what you say online. when you call me an idiot. you better mark your words. :)

Atomant669, half of the video guys frequent PROFESSIONAL video forums (mostly international ones) all the time.

This video section of the forum is mostly catered for basic video users and videographers (wedding mainly)

If you wanna see the real deal of video, check out www.dvxuser.com for example - you hardly find people talking about DSLR there. Over there, DSLRs are dispensable.

Just a quick reply, there are award winning home videos and there are professional videocams costing over 100K...

perhaps the term idiot doesn't suit you well... i'll think of sum name to name you , the way you are putting up this thread is totally baseless and nt forgetting tasteless do you wanna rage a war between vids and stills????

and i'm no barking tourist.....

I think you do not know what you're talking about.

I've got a few cameras under my care that're worth well above USD 200k, and you're telling me there're no professional videocams?

okay, outta reach to most. Let's not talk about that level then.

There're many passionate videographers using pretty good video cameras.

I mean...what are u driving at? what's your point? What're u talking about man?

And in any case...video and photography are two different things altogether. None is better than the other.

I'm both a photo and videographer and a TV engineer...I use all of them, depending on situation and what I want to do. You don't use a high end TV camera to shoot wedding photos, neither would you bring a DSLR to cover a live broadcast.

There's no link.

I think AtomAnt have gotten his answer to his enquiries.

Firstly, on a moderator's point of view, the question posed by Thread Starter is considered flame baiting. Before posting such questions, a simple google on "Professional Video cameras" will bring up lots of info on the topic.

Secondly, if the rest of you guys think it's a stupid question, just don't bother to reply or post.
