I'm doing a small production for my church and it involves a night scene (Outdoor). Need some recommendation on the camera that can give a good quality under low lighting. (Note: I'll be renting it...) TIA!! :D

The Sony VX2000/2001 and PD150/170 models are pretty good in low light, but of course you will get better results with a reasonable amount of light, that's whay it's called video and not audio! :)

If you are renting, I suggest to include a small on-camera light which will help a lot unless you are quite far from the action.

well, actually what do you mean by nite scene :)? shooting scenery? or people outdoor?
if scenery then it really depends on the environment lighting condition.
but if people then is advisable to have some portable lite. Not forgetting lighting is also a mood creation for visual, if u know how to use it.
for camera, sony work rather well in low light condition as suggested by jaegersing.

good luck to your production

cheers

Major props to the VX2000 and its lowlight capabilities. It won't be pretty at extremely low light levels, but at least you'll get the image. Of course, like the earlier have posted, everything looks better with sufficient light. But if your major concern is getting the shot, then the VX2000 can't be beat, in my opinion
