something went wrong with my EOS 50's back cover and now cannot close the cam cover . want to send it in for repair. Anyone has got recommendation as to which shop to send to ? Have tried CWS but their price a bit high. Thks !

I know what's wrong. The latch on the camera side is broken. If you try closing it a few more times and shake it a bit, the broken piece will fall out.

How old is your cam? Mine broke just last week, but didn't have the time to bring it in for repairs. BTW, how old is your cam? Seems like a common problem with the EOS 50.

My EOS 50 cover latch broke last year too. Repaired it at John 3:16, but can't remember how much.

My friend recently had similar problem with his EOS50. The Camera Workshop (tcw) at Peninsula Plaza repaired it for $80, I think.
