Get the ColorVision Monitor Spyder for LCD/CRT monitors. But note that not all LCDs can be calibrated properly.

This is the cheapest product available. The 'pro' ones are in the 4 digit range.

note that CP is clearing its stocks on the old RGB only version.

Buy lor. But seriously, if you are not doing professional work on your system, it's not that critical, unless your prints are way off what your monitor shows. For me, I only adjust the monitor gamma using Adobe Gamma.
