Calendar of Events (outings/photoshoots/etc)

Dear Ops and Admins,

May I make a suggestion?

I haven't been in here long. I would like to forward the suggestion on the use of a proper calendar to indicate a true outline of outings/photoshoots/external events to help the members see at a single glance the various happenings in, around, and out of Clubsnap.

As a photography forum, this might help them to plan their shoot on a monthly, weekly or even daily basis!

Yes, I absolutely agree with this brilliant idea, maybe can make a simple UI calendar that can show which date have the event and when we click into that date, it will directly link to the corresponding thread.

I don't mind helping to update/maintain it, but at the end of the day, it's the ops/admins who has the final say.

It is definitely a good idea. Sometimes when I see an outing and wanted to join...scroll to the last page and find it filled up already. So if there is this calendar system like in my company intranet where registered user will key in all the info, members can see everything in one glance and can join more easily.

Admins and Mods...please consider this...thanks.

IIRC, CS used to have one calender, but that was for the major events.

in my personal view, to have a calender for outings and photoshoots will be very good, however, it is hard to maintenance it, as too many changes for each outings and photoshots, and too many events also.

but for the time being, may I suggest the organizers for the outings and photoshots, edit the first or second post of your threads for the latest update, eg slot available, date or time changes etc... this will help everyone who interested in your outing or photoshots.
and reminder your kakis refrain from KPT talks in your threads too..

Editing the 1st or 2nd post might be a little difficult as there are a number of people joining in our outings(Especially if there are more than 20 people).Or maybe those who want to join can PM the TS so only the TS can update the list?

the suggestion of updating first or second post has done before, and it is very useful and easy to understand for those people who just take notice of the outing, and perhaps don't have to update so frequently, only the important changes and availability.

and I'm not sure how the calender thingy going to work out, best just leave it for admins.

sounds like a good idea.

i think it is possible.

somewhat like outlook. user will create an event and upload the details onto the calendar. any amendments, user will update himself.
