I'm looking to ordering my new R2M LE from Dr Yao drom HK. I don;t think I will have much issue dealing with Dr Yao as he is a reputable seller but I would like to seek some advice on shipping etc. Also would like to enquire assume if i have problems with the cam, whom should I look for.

Alternatively any direct assosiates/ friends of Dr Yao might be able to help me out?

Joseph Yao does not have any R2M LE in stock fyi. And he isn't able to get any in the near future.

I just got a quotation from him this morning. FYI.

Out of curiousity, why are you assuming that he doesen't have any? Did u check?

Oh sorry, I meant the R2M LE in silver. The black body is available.

HJi terrence, no worries, my bad, din make myself clear.

Yah I like black. Black is good~! =)

Cheers,

I once contacted him for buying a R2. He is really a nice man to talk with. His price is better than Cameraquest(not too much), and with very favorable shipment fee.

yep. and might i add also better than wat ebay is offering sometimes. i contacted him abt a voigtlander lens 2-3 mths ago. his pricing, including shipping, came up to be a few hundred cheaper than cameraquest and ebay. plus, the lens and packaging were in pristine condition, and arrived to me in less than 3 days after payment (the singpost registered letter to him carrying my bank draft took longer to reach him than his lens to me... so much for the efficiency of singpost.).

thanks to terence for the contact!

I had a good experience dealing with Dr Yao too, for my 50mm f2.5 Skopar.

Guys, whats the best way to trasact with Dr Yao? Bank Draft? Remittance? Don't really know wat's the best and cost effective way.

Bought most of my Voigtlander stuff from Dr. Yao and he prefers Bank Draft in Hong Kong Dollars. I must say he is one of the best grey market dealer around. Reliable and excellent service! I have been doing business with him since 2003 and I have just placed an order for the R3M set! :)

AFAIK, he only accepts intl' bank draft. do remember the banks charge (IIRC) $15 as transcation fee tho.

if u want the draft to reach him fast, suggest u use other services apart from singpost. took me close to 2wks for my registered mail to reach him... shessh...

Cool, i shall place my order with him soon. R3M and R2M diff's only the magnification right?

Yes that is correct. R3M has a x1 viewfinder and also it has a 40mm frameline instead of the more common 35mm.

You are most welcome! :)

Hi Voigtlander, just a quick question, are the Bessas made in Japan or China? I assume Japan right since this is a premium item?

From what I know, Cosina does not assemble their Voigtlander cameras in China.
