Hi all,

I'll be in Washington, DC for a business trip in May. Does anyone know reputable places to buy lenses, in particular 2nd hand shops? Looking to get lenses for my Nikon D50.

I found a previous thread (http://forums.clubsnap.com/showthread.php?t=7295), but since it's 5 years old, I thought I'd start a new one.

if free take a drive to NY and visit Camera disneyland B&H
one can realli spent 1 whole day there .............

I was there for ten days, I don't see any 2nd hand camera shops around.

Very boring place, unless you are interested in the museum, recommended the Holocaust Museum, its a must see and its free entrance but the que will be long and goes around the building. All the "M" are there...museum.museum,museum...

Go to Capital Hill and on the other end is the obelisk and WWII & Abraham Lincoln monument.

The city buses, pay $2 keep the ticket and you can stop, get down, look around, take pictures and board the next bus again, show the bus driver your ticket. Check the last bus service, taxis are very expensive. Go to George Town by this bus.
China town is a small area near the station. Many restaurants there.

Sorry to OT, but some info for you.

That's a far drive from Maryland to NYC... BH is in NYC not upstate NY.

Thanks for the info James, and for the suggestion Vax.

I don't think I have the time to go NYC. When in uni I travelled from NYC to Baltimore via Philly and that was 2 pretty long train rides. Anyway, this time it's for business, so I won't have the pleasure of shopping to my heart's content.

Anybody else with info?

I was there last Oct.....as someone else said, the city center looks like a dead town, you will have better chance in Georgetown and Pentagon City, but so far I didn't see any nice equipment shop other than those normal photo developing outlets

Nevertheless this place has penty of photographic opportunities and best done on foot....Here are my humble collections if you are interested :) http://www.nikonuser.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1265
