Buying Leica from HK, is it worth it?

Hi all, been thinking of getting a Leica system for the longest time. Just wondering if the many experts out could help me. How much cheaper is it to get Leica MP body from HK as compared to CP(%). Will there be international warranty if purchased from HK? Any particular recommendations of HK shops selling Leica stuff? Safe to get 2nd hand leica stuff from HK? Sorry for the many questions, just wanna make an informed choice. Cheers! Happy New Year one and all!

Wow, half price for a grey set, that is very tempting indeed. By grey set you mean new original stuff without any warranty right? Anyone know which reliable shop to get grey Leica stuff in HK? Cheers!

I buy my leica M6 with 50mm f2 summicro for HK 10,800 three years ago,where CP quote me for about S$4K,does this count as half price?

Sabahan, did you buy a new M6 body? The M6TTL 0.85 price now is around HKD 16,000......would be helpful if you can give me the address you bought your M6 and 50mm lens, I am in HK now, and would like to buy one too. Thanks!

I said about 2 years ago,leica will rise the price every year,and remember ,is a grey markey price ,HK16,000.00 can buy in singapore liao.I think buy in singapore the price is about HK 12,000.00

HKD 16,000 is with international Leica warranty, I know the shop has several of these still new.......will check in SG.....don't think M6 is still sold new??? Where did you get the price for around HKD 12000 in SG? Is that for a new body?

I calculate from Malaysian riggit,I get my quote from KL which is about RM5,700,is about HK 12,000.is singapore camera so expensive?

I assume your HKD 12,000 in SG was two years ago? How much is the M6 body now? Also can confirm if this is for a NEW body or not?
Do you happen to know the present prices of M7 and MP bodies with no warranty in KL then? Possible to give us the address in KL? I am not familiar with shops in KL. You can also send me a PM, thanks!

Like my nick name imply,I stay in Sabah,I buy almost all my stuff in Cathay photo,only hassel and leica in Malaysia and HK respectively.

I buy my M7 in Singapore,if I am not remember wrongly,I don't know the grey market price of leica in Malaysia.

I buy my lens in Keat camera in Jalan Pudu in KL,which is just along the previous pudu jail.from jalan Bukit bintang,walk till the end and turn left,walk along the pudu jail until you saw a motor cycle shop,the camera shop is just next few shop away.thge owner have a set of leica full titanium 50th anniversary set,one of the 50 set in the world.he sell mostly hassel and leica with some 2nd hand hassel and leica there.
