Does anyone know to buy this camera?
Thank you

Might want to look at the leica m9 for a full frame digi range or 8.0 and 8.2.
Not sure what is your use. If is street photography maybe the leica X1.

Alan photo at sim lim should have I think.

Sorry to hijack your post, wkong but you might be interested in this.

Apparently, a RD-1x was released in February this year with some minor upgrades/changes. Anyone knows if this latest model in available in Singapore?

I'm also interested in getting a digital rangefinder and the Epson is the only that makes budget sense.

I believe the RD1x is only sold in the Japanese domestic market. But for that kinda price that it is going for, one could get a good condition M8 in the re-sale market

Hi, the R-d1x is only for Japanese domestic market. You won't be able to find it here. You can buy from Matsuiyastore on ebay though, they are reputable and usual have R-d1/s/x on sale. But prices for the R-d1x is about USD$3k. Ridiculous!

No shop in sg stocks the R-d1/s anymore. I tried, when I was looking to buy a R-d1s earlier this year. I put up a WTB in the buy/sell section and got 3 offers to sell, almost immediately. So this is something you might want to think about. I feel that the R-d1x is not worth so much more money because the sensor is still the same, it's upgrades are only a faster processing engine + software and the ability to use SDHC cards. A new R-d1x can buy you a used M8, but a used M8 can buy you a used R-d1s, 2 lens and some spare change. The prices for used R-d1s have dropped due to the new M9, and now is a good time to pick one up.

Previous posters here seem to have the mindset that the M8 is a better camera, but I am not fully convinced. Both have pros and cons. I know for sure that my R-d1s has better ergonomics and much better quality ISO 1600. The M8 has got better pixel density/pitch and lesser crop factor. It's up to you to decide what you want and need. After all, the person behind the camera is more important than the camera itself.

Sorry for the long post, hope I helped.

Hi
Thank you for your suggestion. I value it.
However, the M8/.2/9 and the Espon are to me two different animals. I view the Espon RD as a very classic and may I use the word "sexy" looking rangefinder.

Anyway, I wish to also thank those who have taken the time to offer comments and recommendations.
