Buying an underwater cam for snorkeling?

Hi guys

I'll be heading down to maldives for a week so i'm thinking of getting a 'tough' cam that can withstand up to 10m of water level.

It's more for taking pics when i snorkel.

Got my eyes on the panasonic TS3.

Any idea where shops in SG carry a wide range of underwater cams?

Hi... you could try the usual recommended shops in SG like Cathay, TK or MS...

Beside this model... you might also check out models like -

Olympus - Tough TG-2 iHS, TG-830 iHS,

Canon - PowerShot D20

Sony - Cyber-shot DSC-TF1

GoPro - HD2/HD3

As always... many price to fit your budget...

I have the FT3

Be forewarn that the Panasonic TS3 (FT3) lens may fog up when you change the battery after a swim just like the Nikon AW100

I also have pentax WG-2 which is not bad

Thanks for the feedback Fedrick.

Which of the 3 would you recommend in terms of durabilty and pic quality?

Appreciate if you can share how much and where you got it from

Sorry for the late reply

I prefer the Pentax but not because of the picture quality(most of the waterproof camera pics are decent) or durability (most adventure cameras are good enough for day to day use)

because of the design (flash will not be blocked by shutter triggering hand ), how it feels in my hand (I have big hands) and it does not fog up like the Panasonic (imagine I had to wait at least 5min for the lens to clear with the battery compartment opened)

diver-hloc did mention some other waterproof models and a few recommended shops

I wrote to give you a heads up of the fogging issues which is not mention in the reviews you find online.

Pentax is good! WG3 coming!

I got Pentax wg1 and it leaked. Looking for another but will probably look for a cheap one
