Just FYI came across a couple of time on items listed in the classified section. Buyer post items for sale but without actually have the item indicated for sale. Their intention is to bring down the market price of the item which they are intending to purchase. It's really a waste of time for all of us. My recent encounter with this seller and his excuse is that he PM is full and last PM could not be sent because of the it. Below are the PMs that I've sent:

Hi Tan,
Do you actually have the lens for sale? I PMed you right after you post your lens for sale and you asked for my number which I've replied promptly. I was not contacted at all and you indicated in your new post it's reserved for viewing. Kindly at lease keep interested parties inform if you are not selling/ already sold or maybe don't even have the lens for sale. Don't wash each other time. THANKS! :nono: :thumbsd:

you base this on fact, or pure postulation

there is a world of difference between the two

Hi,
Maybe, but this is just my opinion. I responsed almost right after he posted, he repiled to ask for my number for meet up. The next day I waited till about evening and gave him another PM to remind him of our meet up but got no response from him only to realise that he re-post stating that his PM box is full (of which he should have my initial PM). Why would he re-post the item again when he have not dealt with the pervious interested party? I thought we could only re-post after 3 days if item not sold. No worries, just a post to refrain others from doing somethimg like this. Thanks for your feedback.

You should have reported the thread mah...

I do PM this seller several times but haven't got any reply. Price of item this seller asked is too low I think. For example, he ask d300 for $ 900. Quite suspicious thread .

i understand, it is not wrong to point out something suspicious, but here you seem to say that you know for sure, that is not correct.

just pointing out the difference.. because as much as i agree that this is suspicious behaviour, the reasons are uknown, whether he is really doing that to lower market price is unknown. ;) i'm sure people who price their items look at more than just one thread to decide how to do so, so it would take quite some wishful thinking to think that one thread of his will drive the market down, for example.

Hi Guys,
Apologised if I have cause some bad reaction on my comments but what I've said happen in the real market etc. car, property market. Say what you may but it does influence the would be sellers if he is not update on market pricing. Glad to hear that there are other that have got similar encounter from this guys. Cheers!

hi, whatever i posted were not "bad comments", don't have to be so sensitive. just clarifying if the guy has the audacity to actually tell you that he is doing that, which is unlikely.

relax, it 's good that you bring a heads-up, but do it in a more objective manner. :)

cheers!

Bro,
No worries! We just want to clear the air on our views. No offence intended. Cheers! :)

i think cases like these should be reported to moderators.

what is the point of posting it here unless you want to publicly shame him? if that is your intention i would think this is not the platform to do it.

In second hand selling, agreed price for deal is determind by seller. If you are selling a car, do you complain to another guy if he sells his car off cheaper than you? Maybe he is desperate in need of cash and need to trade his car for some quick cash asap. Even if he post his camera at $1, it's his choice and you can post your stuff for sales at your own argeeable price. But I will definately go for the $1 camera.

But you do can complain about sellers who doesn't honour their words when selling their stuff. After all the argeed price is determind by seller but the cash is from the buyer.
