lance sergeant
noun a corporal acting as a sergeant, usually on a temporary basis and without additional pay.

Interesting. Is it ever used in the armed forces in Singapore?

We have T/Sgt and L/Sgt :)

i thk it's t/sgt and s/sgt. now there are 1sg, 2sg and 3sg

we do have L/SGT believe it stood for Local Sargent. Differences between L and T I think is depending on the issuing authority (whether the rank is given by unit or higher). Is there S/SGT as in senior SGT?

With the switch to the new ranks I understand that the L and T still remain i.e. L/3SG etc.

…but back to the butts :)
