Noticed that the bokeh ball of Noctilux wide open is also oval shape...but when stop down to f1.4, we see polygonal round due to the aperture blade of the lens...older lenses (50mm f1.5 Summarit LTM, CZJ 50mm f1.5 Sonnar LTM, 50mm f1.2 Fujinon LTM) with more aperture blades tend to have smoother edges...

Summilux wide open at f1.4 produce oval shape light ball bokeh and become round when stop down to f2 (i.e. one stop from wide open)...:D

very interesting test.
so noctilux stopped down will have the polygonal shape bokeh ball, but not the 50 lux stopped down? it will have round bokeh ball?

Any chance we can get a comparison with the Carl Zeiss and Voigtlander ones? :)

oo thanks a lot Thomas!
So it also has the same polygonal shape stopped down.

Lux50preAsph & before, I think have 12 blades, so may be rounder when stopped down.

Thanks for the comparison!

Sorry Thomas, my eyes were only looking at the Macallan!!:D:D:D

Never boring, but educational. Especially after a few shots of lovely Macallan.
