Hi Frisk...

Here are all the stuff in the package...+ manuals

Prices range from $165 to $200 ....go bargain hunt....got this info from friends...
lowest price normally are packaged parice..

Ok thanks. If vertical shots are not a major requirement, would you still use it?

I got it for longer battery life...for an event last week.

Never have i thought while using it....that in portrait ....with the 5600HS on board, it really brings the centr of gravity to the lens hence helps in maintaining balance for slower shutters - with the AS....its great!!!!....

The battery grip tripod mount is centralised to the lens...too.
rgds,
me

with the grip and 2 NP-400, you can continously shoot an event with no problems. But with 1 NP-400 and no grip, you may need to swap your second NP-400 into the camera which takes a minute or so. You may lose valuable moments for that event.

I agree with Sulhan on the balance on 5600 and grip. It has a large counter clockwise turning effect with can be minimised by using a grip. Of coz the total combine weight of the camera will be heavy.

I did not get the grip. Instead I got the second battery. I intend to use it for travel photography and I need to be as portable as possible. To me, I rather use the money on the grip for an extra battery since the landscape will not move when I change the juice.

Yup, that mountain will not run away :)

I get your point on the extended shooting time, after all I started off with events. But now for me if I were to get the A1 I'll do the same thing, batt instead of grip......... I don't like the idea of 6 AA batt, weird numbers.....
6 AA fits into 2 AA holder right? Not 6AA in 1 holder right?

Er, btw, any of you found a way to get the A1 to shoot more than 4-5 frames in continous mode in any manner?

Miss the UHS feature on the 7hi where I can get 60+ frames continous.......

Also is the image displayed on the A1 EVF or LCD while shooting in continous mode?

6 batteries in 2 holders. But you need 6 batteries at the same time to make it work.

Continous mode with 4-5 frames... no idea but I only achieve 3 frames/sec.

EVF and LCD is off when you pressed the shutter.

Hi wondering if it is possible to put the batt from d100 into the a1

Hiee guys....

You can set the camera to RAW then set to Continuous drive High and shoot 5 frames in straight sequence within one trigger press.

I use this too in times where there may be camera shake risk for Speakers who like to use hand gestures in speeches.

I like to take espression with hand gestures and the continuous drive+ Anti shake helps to give a good hit rate for such shot...

At low light, there will be times where hand movements would be "motion blurred"....so have to use this technique to shoot....right at the time where the hand change direction....there will be instances where the hand will freeze for an instant , where if the shot was taken it will be tact sharp.....

Just like you throw the ball in the air....there will be a freeze point where the ball stops before it falls to the ground...

I will post some weblink....as example......soon.....in another thread.....as this thread look like going OT...(out of topic)

regards,
Me....

No, it is 6AA in 1 holder that fits right into the battery grip. The 6AA cell is fitted on both side of the holder i.e. 4 on 1 side and 2 on the other. The whole pack than take up both the lithium battery slot. So if you use AA you cannot use the lithium batt and vice versa. However you can choose to use 1 or 2 lithium batt.

sorry, my mistake, I thought the AA holder are detachable.
