Are there really no more flights from SG to Ipoh? I'm wondering what's the best way to go there. Is it really coach only?

There are no flights from changi airport to ipoh.

The best and fastest way to is charter a cessna from seletar airport.;)

Get a chauffeur to drive you there..

Otherwise, take a malaysian cab from Victoria st. You can neg the price till it sounds right, but i wont be cheap or safe (if you get into the wrong cab who is a robber or is linked to a syndicate).

Many malaysian go by bus usually (from SG to Ipoh). It is a very popular destination especially for Ipoh people who work in Singapore.

Alternatively, go by train. It is slowest, but relatively safe also.

By air, oh well, it is fast, but expensive to pay for silly airport tax.

Flight wise, you might have to wait till a couple of months later when Firefly starts operating from Singapore Changi Airport.

I would say bus is a better way since no direct flight from SG to Ipoh, buy the super VVIP coach which i think only have 18 seats, board in the everning & arrive early morning just nice to have tim sum in Ipoh.

Bus from Sg to Ipoh will take around 7 to 8 hours...
log in to Airasia and get a free or cheap flight from Sg to KL...then take a direct bus from KLIA to Ipoh(2.5 hours)..

you can drive or take bus. You can consider bus companies like Sri Maju, Glassland, or Allisan from Golden Mile. They'll travel from 2nd link with 2-3 short stop. You can take either morning or night bus. Better to arrange someone to fetch you at Ipoh.

Some bus has individual small tv with preloaded movies for you to watch during the journey. They only sell one way ticket from SG to Ipoh. You've to buy return ticket from Ipoh.

take a flight from sg to KLIA. Then go to the basement of KLIA to take a YOYO bus to ipoh.
Flight 1 hour. ...waiting for YOYO bus 2-3 hours....bus journey to Ipoh 3-4 hours....
:)

Like that, IMO, is troublesome. Just take a coach from Singapore to Ipoh, and sit back, relax, sleep, etc. all the way to Ipoh. Net travel time is still about the same, but minus the hassle of transfers. :)

Firefly was granted the rights to fly to-and-fro Ipoh by the Department of Civil Aviation (Malaysia), but currently the only confirmed schedule flight as operated by Firefly is from Singapore Changi Airport to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (AKA Subang Airport). In fact, I believed that they had recently temporarily suspended some flights to quite a number of destinations.

Oh! Thanks for the update, Bro. :)

What I usually do to get home
- take Senandung Malam train from JB (because it's cheaper, even inclusive of cab ride from house); lower sleeping berth
- wake up in KL Sentral at a decent hour, to me at least, 645 to 7am (the announcement usually comes on a lil' too early, can sleep for at least 30mins more)
- from there definitely more choices, can either tumpang jalan with friends or relatives headed north or take bus. Either will have me first take an LRT ride to Pasar Seni and stop to eat Lai Kee beef noodles, soup (conveniently on the way to Pudu too)
*Going with other half then usually fly down to KLIA after work Fri. Either stay a night or take bus home. Usually not keen to wake my parents up when I arrive at a late hour, basic principle of my itinerary.

Coming back to SG usually direct bus (although I hate wasting the day) or same option, head to KL first, Senandung Malam to JB. Dry beef noodle (the Seremban style) breakfast awaits in JB too just across the tracks. If don't feel like it in the morning then just continue journey. No one checks tickets after JB, ahem.
