Paris Silk has quoted me 511 for the camera...

I apologise if I'm unable to afford expensive cameras like yourself. Perhaps you have money flowing out of your nose, I'm not sure.

Anything wrong with asking around where's the best place to buy a camera? Thought people in this forum were supposed to be friendly, but I guess that's a misconception.

But if you want to get actual advice, watch your expenditures, hold out for a month or two until you know you can spare the cash. Why do I suggest this? Most forum members start out with a small P&S camera, then next thing you know, they will shell out a couple of thousands for a DSLR and a few lenses.

But really, your PM really shows how you are without having a need to know who you are. I didn't ask for an apology for the title for a PM from you, only to get lambasted in a 2nd PM.

Go ahead then, please help to increase the GDP and GNP of our nation.

What the **** is that supposed to mean? Only people who do not need to watch each dollar they spend are allowed to buy cameras? Says a lot about you doesn't it?

Here's a public reply for you.

There are people who are working, and spending beyond their means. If I'm not concerned, I need not even reply.

And for your information, Paris Silk has been sporting competitive pricing. If you still want to haggle, you could. But miss out on the photo opportunities in the time searching for the "best price".

Firstly, let's look at the nature of my initial post.

I was asking if anyone knew of any good bargains for the Canon Powershot A700. Period.

Next, I stated that Paris Silk had quoted me a price of $511. This statement implies and states that I have only checked with one place, and if anyone knew of a cheaper place to obtain the camera, hopefully they would share the information.

Now, let's look through this forum and check the number of posts where people are asking around for good deals. Oh wow, I guess a lot of people do it on this forum, because all they are looking for is a good deal. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

Was I asking for advice on where to spend my dollars? No. Were you answering and contributing to the thread in a positive manner based on the nature of the post? No. Was I the one looking for trouble with my initial post? No.

With your initial post, you basically implied that poor people or thrift-minded people or people who like to scrimp and save, shouldn't buy cameras. Seems to me like a lot of people want to save as much as they can by finding a good deal. But according to you, people who want to find a good deal shouldn't even buy a camera.

I purchased one from AP@SLS about a month ago at 510 nett. w/512MB SD + Canon Promo Kit (this changes each promo period).
