The Sony A7s and A7s II are by far the most versatile video solutions ever made.
One can shoot with total peace of mind knowing that no matter how bad the venue lighting is, the high ISO sensors will get you quickly out of trouble.
The ergonomics of Sony's FE system ,however leaves much to be desired. Professional full frame zooms mounted on these body become very unwieldy. For example, Sony's FE 24-70mm f2.8 dwarfs everything from other lensmakers. And the FE 70-200 f2.8 is definitely not meant for handheld filming. Moreover, these big lenses also come with astronomical price tags.
A good compromise in terms of weight / peformance is to use fast EF-S zooms on the A7s's instead.
Even if one switches to the APS-C mode on the A7s, low light performance still beats any other APS-C camera out there (except the Varicam LT and the EVA1)
Enter the Canon EF_S 17-55mm f2.8 (or Sigma 17-50mmf2.8) and the Sigma 50-150mm f2.8. Together they cover the equivalent of 26mm to 225mm but are half the size and less than half the price of FE equivalents.
If used with the Fotodiox Fusion ND Smart AF adapter, you get the extra advantage of an internal ND filter along with metering and in-lens stabilisation.
In lens stabilisation is critical of the A7s mark I due to it's severe rolling shutter.
