Now I have 3x 70-210 f4, but keeping one for myself.

So 2 is for sale.

I am more like sulhan, I got the 80-200 f2.8 APO, but keeping f4 for backup and travelling lens. Not exactly light, but image quality is very good.

Get it while it is available.

Sure... but Sony is going to continue making lenses and Camera that uses existing mount. So it is actually good news for Minolta user. Because should Sony lenses' QC is not as good as Minolta, I am sure the Minolta lenses from the past till what is available now, is going to be "Diamond"... and it can be seen as a class above and hence retain its value or become more expensive because of Sony's Marketing!!! I am definately going to keep all my current setup and am confidence enough to see the price goes up... just like after KM releases 7D and 5D.

So who wants 2 of my beer can? I got 3 units, of course, one is for myself, I am not selling my gear as yet, just the gear that my friend send me recently.

I am not dissapointed with KM to sell their camera business to SONY, as SONY has the budget to develop and market the product.... That to me is indeed a good news as we will see more DSLR in the market that support Minolta lenses. Also there will be more lenses available in that respect.

So I am hoping to see 2 or 3 new DSLR from SONY that uses Minolta lenses rather than 1 a year or less... so in the sense, This is indeed a GREAT NEWS.

With Sony's knowledge in professional broadcasting equipment, I am sure we will be just doing fine.

I am sure in order to make good DSLR, Sony is going to employ all KM engineer in terms of design and R&D of the camera (for start anyway).

Now that I see the positive way, I am going to spend my money on the 70-200 f2.8 APO G SSM in the next month or so.

Contax has different story... don't wish to talk about it as other might flame on my ignorance about Contax situation.

both sony and KM QC are bad, from CCD, AS and 5D's back focus problems...

if there is no good body to use, lens is meanless...

the classic period of minolta really finished.

film cam and lens will devalue soon, B&S play this story every day...
from F5, F100, EOS3, A7 to caon 1V....price drop down fast...
