Recently, when i was looking for the original battery it range from $68-$70++ onwards.
In the end find it too expensive i bought a 3rd Party one at $30.

there is one year warranty. so since got a year warranty no harm trying

Everyone does it, with no problems. You can buy 3 third party batteries for the price of 1 original. And as eileen has mentioned, shops usually give a 6months -1 year warranty on the abtteries.

I not using 1 but 4 3rd party batts. Try to look for phottix brand. It is good. Even nokia original batt got issue. All the batteries more or less come from the same place but different QC

i would suggest that you get original battery.

i have heard that if a 3rd battery leads and damage your camera.
your camera warranty might be void.

Risk assessment involves what can happen and how likely it is to happen. Just being paranoid won't help you much. So far I haven't heard here about any cases where a 3rd party battery has damaged a camera. And since shops even 'dare' to give warranty you can consider this as a quite safe thing.

Havery Norman even has AIG insurance cover for the battery. something like is the 3rd damage your battery the insurance cover the camera. I remember the sales person on harvey norman telling me that.
